this is an important election. i'm concerned about america, the direction it's taken over the last four years. i know this is bigger than an election of the two of us as individuals. it's bigger than our respective parties. it's an election about the course of america. what america do you want to have for yourself and your children? there really are two different paths we began speaking about this evening, and over the course of the month, we'll have two more presidential debates and a vice vice presidential dee to talk about the two paths, but they lead in very different directions. it's not just looking to the words you have to take in evidence of where they go. look at the record. there's no question in any mind if the president was re-elected, you'll continue to see a middle class squeeze with incomes going down and prices going up. i'll get incomes up again. you'll see chronic unemployment. we had 43 straight months with unemployment above 8%. if i'm president, i'll help create 12 million new jobs in this coun

i don't believe that this election overall is about ta. but it's really about two visions of what america is. are we going to go down the path of greece that constantly has a bigger government and taxing more? are we going to go the path of america has always been on a path where we allow freedom, where we allow the american dream to flourish where we don't crush it under the burden of washington d.c. that's the choice of two different americas. it seems to me what a senator should be doing is taking the common sense that you and i know that's here in missouri and taking that to washington d.c. that's what this election is really about. it's not about words. it's about two different votingrecords that are the exact opposite. claire can say these a 50 percenter when you vote 98% of the time with obama, give her credit to that. >> i think congressman akin's comments opens the window to his views for missourians. he has apologizedder those comments but they say a lot about how he views things. that's where missourians need to pay attention. i
